Underwater Response Characteristics of Electrostatic Transducers
Abstract
Electrostatic transducers have been used as receivers and transmitters
of ultrasonic waves at frequencies up to one megacycle per
second. Transducers with solid dielectric are widely used, particularly
for ultrasonics in air. It is the purpose of this paper to
study the response of one type of these transducers in water,
especially the response to the impulsive sound produced by an electrical
discharge.
