Abstract
This paper is the result of the study of
the professional costuming business, especially as I
encountered it in my work at Brooks Van Horn Costumes.
In addition to the main body of my paper, I have
included in the appendixes some miscellaneous bits of
information which might at some time be of aid to the
costumer, - a brief directory of costume supply sources,
and two handy measurement conversion tables, for hats
and shoes. And finally, I have attempted, in my
costume plates for the period play "Fashion," to
demonstrate in a limited way some of the suggestions
which I have made.
