dc.description.abstractThis study was conducted to test the administration of extrinsic KR would significantly enhance the learning of the keypunching aspect of data processing. 4 females Ss were selected from Loy Norrix High School in Kalamazoo, Michigan and were matched on the basis of pretest scores. Ss were trained on the Selectric Typewriter and the experimental group received additional Knowledge of Results (KR) through the use of pre-typed sheets. This KR was withheld from the control group. Practice was given in stages with graduated increases in rate. Each S had to meet the criterion of learning set at 1 perfect pass over the entire sequence before advancing to the next stage. 2 measures were recorded: 1) number of trials to criterion 2) number of errors to criterion. Analysis of the result's showed that in this case the experimental group performed better than the control group but factors such as the small size of the sampling unit and wide differences in variance prohibited generalization of the hypothesis to any larger population.en_US
