Verbal and Visual Vestiges of the Mexican Revolution in the Modern Day Mexico City

Abstract

People are what make history, then remember it, in order to perpetuate it. Historical events are the actions of men, initiated by conviction or courage, by cowardice or greed. In the eyes of the Mexican people, one such man of conviction would be Francisco I, Madero. Aquiles Serdin, martyr of the Revolution was a man of courage. Victoriano Huerta was a man greedy for power and cowardly caused the assassination of Madero. So it is that the people of a country shade their feelings towards history, with overtones of emotion. This is why it was felt that the Mexican people would be the focus in a study of the Mexican Revolution and necessitated being in Mexico, to talk directly with the people, in their own language, in their own environment and about their own Revolution which many of them had seen take place.
