A Voting Study of Two Precincts in Kalamazoo, Michigan

Abstract

The intentions of this study are to investigate the voting behavior in certain specific areas of Kalamazoo, revise and compile the voting records of Kalamazoo, and perhaps to add knowledge to the field of voting behavior. This study focused on Precinct #3 (low average income, large percentage of Negroes, high turnover of occupancy, and some actual slum conditions) and Precinct #22 (high income, only one racial group, low turnover of occupancy, and no potential slum conditions).
