Abstract
The question of the role of the Amer1can Peace Commission in the Versailles Conference has always been rather provocative in nature and will not be cleared up by this paper. There will develop a few po1nts, however, which should be of 1nterest to any student of Twentieth Century History, whether professional or amateur. The "Great War" as such will not be discussed in this thes1s. Its 1mportance will be alluded to only as it pertains directly to the peace treaty which followed and to the men who created it. The Armistice, therefore, will begin this study of the American Peace Commission in Paris.
