After studying the problems surrounding the issue of Palestine, it would appear that the Mandate which Britain had been "given by the League of Nations" was unworkable. The promises made to the Jewish people were definitely in conflict with the desires of the Arabic people living there. This conflict could not be avoided by the interpretation given the Balfour Declaration in the Churchill White Paper of 1922. In order for there to have been a National Home for the Jewish people, there would have had to have been free immigration, for what is the purpose of having a home if one is unable to go to it?
