Abstract
This study was made in order to determine if the structural studies made since 1941 would recommend any revisions of the commonly accepted nitrogen and oxygen single-bond covalent radii. It is important that the covalent radii of the elements of the first row of eight be accurately known before meaningful studies can be made of the significance of bond lengths involving elements in other rows, which are more likely to be involved in multiple bonding.
