Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCB's) are extracted from soil sediments with n-hexane and acetone. The PCB and organochlorine pesticides are then separated from organophosphates by eluting with 6% diethyl ether in n-hexane from a florisil column. Determination and identification of PCB content was then made by gas-liquid chromatography using a 3H foil electron capture detector.
