Characterization of a Novel Prostaglandin Generating Factor from Anaphylaxed Human Lung
The investigations have provided a preliminary profile of the low molecular weight substance found in the supernatants of anaphylaxed human lung. The material was shown to be a peptide, inactivated by the protease trypsin. This suggests the presence of basic amino acids in the primary structure. Partial inactivation of the molecule by boiling may indicate the importance of tertiary structure to the prostaglandin generating activity.
