Subcritical Heterogeneous Phase and Volumetric Equilibria of the Binary System of Ethane and 2-Methyl-Napthalene
Abstract
This project investigated the subcritical heterogeneous phase and
volumetric equilibria of the binary system of ethane (hereafter known as C2)
and 2-methyl-napthalene (hereafter known as 2mn). The compositions and the
molar volumes of the coexisting liquid phases in the three phase equilibria of
the given system were evaluated using stoichiometric procedures. The
experimental temperature range is from 3° to 40° Celsius and the pressure
range is from 18 to 55 Bars. Emphasis was placed on the three phase
(liquid-liquid-vapor) behavior of the system.
