Studies toward the Synthesis of 2-Amino-4-Alkyl (or Aryl)-6-Substituted-Pyrmidine-3-Oxides
MetadataShow full item record
The synthesis of 2-amino-4-alkyl (or aryl)-6-substituted-pyrimidine-3- oxides was attempted by six synthetic routes (schemes II to VII), which were divided into two major routes. A and B. Route A involves formation of an oximino carbon-nitrogen double bond. Syntheses through this route failed. Route B involves formation of carbon-carbon single bond with an N-cyanoimine intermediate. Attempts through route B were successful, producing the desired reaction products in reasonable yields.
