This paper is to be the presentation of a senior independent project which had as a primary purpose, the operational and psychological analysis of one specific approach to reading remediation techniques. Since flexibility itself is one of the major tenets of the Gillingham approach, the particular approach that is to be studied here, it is not to be assumed that this one approach is considered the best or only effective method of treatment for specific reading disability. It is my purpose to consider the rationale behind the method, the structure of the method, and then present an analysis of its validity and worth as a remediation program. With honors.Original SIP included a reel-to-reel recording of the student's work (not digitized). This SIP included a magnetic reel-to-reel recording entitled "Recording of Student's Work." It was not digitized because the recording quality had been compromised.
