A Translation of Olivier Séchan's "Adventure with the Three Cousins -- Mystery at a Mill"

Abstract

Anyone who has struggled with translation has realized that there is more to a language than its dictionary. This fact was emphasized for me by my involvement with Olivier Sechan's children's story, Mystery at a Mill. I have attempted a faithful translation, respecting certain conventions as to idiomatic equivalents, recasting only the names of the protagonists so as to produce smoother reading for a young American public.
