Abstract
The task of this thesis is to report on structural ana1ysis of these two protein fractions and the affect of perchloric acid. This will be done by analyzing the amino- and carboxyl- terminal amino acids. The amino- terminal residue will be approached by the dinitrofluorobenzene technique of Sanger (1945) modified by Frankel-Conrat (1955). The carboX71- end group will be approached by the use or carboxypeptidase first used by Lens (1949) ane also reported by Frankel-Conrat (1955). This terminal amino acid determination should elucidate on the nature of the chemical bond cleaved due to the action of PCA.
