Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to serve as an introduction
to certain aspects of two fields: actuarial science and computer
technology. More specifically, I have used the computer to prepare
tables which are basic to actuarial science, and this paper
tries to explain the actuarial concepts involved, as well as
to give a general description of COBOL, the computer language
used to construct the tables.
