Abstract
The primary concern of my paper is the disclosure of
the fundamental laws, both from Bonn and from the various
European community organizations, which regulate the
concentration of German business. I will also discuss the actual influence of these laws. Some discussion of the
other environmental factors is included to better reveal
the actual influence. The problems that the legislators
and courts face in attempting to define their goals and find
the methods to realization are prevalent in all semi-free
market societies. These goals and methods are the inseparable
elements of the total subject involved, so it is
reasonable that I give the former some consideration before I delve into the latter. My initial task, then, will be
to provide a brief discussion of the general objectives
of the law and regulation of business concentration.
