This work is poetic drama. That is, it is written in verse, and employs the various poetic devices such as rhythm, sound, specific choice of words over and above the normal process of prose word-choice, and rhyme or lack of it. If a poetic work is to be analyzed properly, these devices, so far as they are used by the poet, cannot be overlooked, and, because in translating any work properly the translator must have a sure understanding of the work in order to express it accurately in another language, it seems to be impossible to translate a poetic work without employing these poetic devices, or their equivalents in the second language, in the translation. I thus feel that a prose translation of this work would have been inadequate, and thus I have translated into English verse. If you are not a current K College student, faculty, or staff member, email firstname.lastname@example.org to request access to this SIP.
