The purpose of this paper is to see how dependent the hypothalamus and pituitary gland are on the photoreceptive qualities of the frog pineal in regards to pigmentation pattern changes. Can these areas of a pinealectomized frog be stimulated electrically so that they respond as if the pineal is intact and functioning? Can a frog be forced, through electrical stimulus, to change his color patterns as if photostimuli were effecting the same change? If you are not a current K College student, faculty, or staff member, email email@example.com to request access to this SIP.
