I had the opportunity to do an internship at the Small Business Association of Michigan (SBAM), from September through November of the 1986 General Election year. I discovered how vital this interaction between Michigan's government and the small business community is through studying the endorsement process that SBAM uses for the election of its state officials. By explaining that process, I hope to show how important it is for businesses, small businesses in particular, to become involved with their state governments--their support will be reciprocated through the necessary legislative action that will provide for their concerns. If you are not a current K College student, faculty, or staff member, email email@example.com to request access to this SIP.
