Working Women: The Choice Between Cradle and Careers
MetadataShow full item record
Today's modern woman is faced with a multitude of choices. Women in three different stages of their lives making choices, compromises, and commitments necessary in balancing personal and career goals. Although my research is biased as I am representative of today's modern woman, it is complete for in my research I became an active participant in all three stages of the working women I studied. I chose the topic of working women and family life because it is a prominent issue in my own life and in the lives of the many women I talked to. Stage One: Several times I have found friends and myself discussing the conflict between wanting to have a career, a man to love, and a family. Stage two: Working an eight to five job at a local HMO, attending two classes, and making ends meet with laundry cleaning, and the grocery store left me tired; and I was single. Stage Three: Facing issues of child care, homelife, career promotions, job transfers and most importantly the choice between continuity and advancement. If you are not a current K College student, faculty, or staff member, email firstname.lastname@example.org to request access to this SIP.
