I will begin my thesis with a section aimed at illustrating the wide degree of difference between definitions of freedom. I will try to accomplish this by offering definitions of freedom from classical times to the present. I will next begin my own interpretation of freedom. To do this, I will need to define some common terms. Next, I will objectively define freedom and explain some of the problems involved in such a definition. Since the main thrust of my thesis involves individual freedom and government, the proper nature of freedom in the political (as applying to government) realm will be explained. Lastly, I will analyze the present state of governmental activity in relation to the proper role of government in a free society: its causes and effects. If you are not a current K College student, faculty, or staff member, email firstname.lastname@example.org to request access to this SIP.
