The Historical Roots of the Basic Law
Abstract
When examining the political system of the Federal Republic of
Germany as set up by the Grundgesetz, or Basic Law, one cannot
help but be forced to look at the historical significance underlying the current parliamentary democracy in West Germany. The Basic
Law is the culmination of many decades of evolution in German
politics. In order to fully understand the Basic Law, its roots must
be uncovered. If you are not a current K College student, faculty, or staff member, email dspace@kzoo.edu to request access to this SIP.
