Abstract
For me, this project has become a reflection of who I have become during the last several years. It started during a family discussion over winter break, where we were discussing various personality types and characteristics, specifically introversion and extroversion. I have always tended to have a distinctly introverted personality, and this has definitely had a significant impact on my life. By working on this piece, I wanted to explore some of the social issues that I see on a daily basis. This is represented on two levels—through the contrast of myself doing a public installation (despite my nature), as well as through the shape of the piece itself. The two contrasting ends represent the varying degrees of personality types and incorporate some of the associated characteristics. However different these types are, they are still represented through the single, continuous nature of the piece, showing that even the extremes are merely adaptations of the same thing.
