Abstract
The purpose of this research project is to provide a history of
the events leading to the proposed construction of a new stadium.
Then, the differing reactions of the key players involved will be
analyzed. After the various facts and opinions have been presented
from all sides of the issue, it will become easier to separate the truth
from the mere rhetoric designed to serve the interests of small
groups. However, even when the facts become clear as to the most
feasible and beneficial course of action for the community as a whole,
it is the conflict resulting from the personalities involved which puts a
political perspective on the situation.
