Abstract
In order to provide a thorough understanding of
agricultural development in India, I start in section II with
an historical approach towards Indian agricultural
development. Section III continues the analysis of Indian agricultural
development but focuses on the simultaneous underdevelopment
caused by the overuse and misuse of modern inputs, i.e.
pesticides. Primarily, this section reveals the shortcomings
of a limited outlook of development characterized by the
situation in Indian agriculture. The fourth section attempts to provide a study which
analyzes the possible success of a holistic development
theory.
