Abstract
This project attempts to open up a discussion on one of
the longest and most difficult conflicts. This is the
conflict between Israelis and Palestinians over the ancient
land that we call Holy. Although the conflict has been going on for over
seventy years, I chose to examine the issue beginning in
1947, when the question of Palestine was brought before the
United Nations. Part I of this project begins by taking the
reader through the historical background of the United
Nations actions toward the conflict. Part II of this project examines how the Palestinian
people decided to take destiny into their own hands. It is
through the Intifada that the Palestinians confront their
Israeli occupiers.
