This paper will explore the social and legal services available to adult sexual assault survivors in Kalamazoo, Michigan and trace the changes in Michigan's law governing their cases. As the analysis will illustrate, the social and legal services have attempted to keep pace with the changes being demanded by rape survivors while the law in Michigan has failed to adequately change. The question then becomes how do we create a public policy which will reflect the survivor's needs? If you are not a current K College student, faculty, or staff member, email firstname.lastname@example.org to request access to this SIP.
