My original assignment was to design the logic for, and write a program in Basic to calculate conversion costs. The easiest and most efficient method of running the conversion costs calculations required the extensive
retrieval of existing data already stored in the main computer system, thereby complicating the program beyond the sophistication of Basic. Consequently, my new assignment became designing the desired input/output
formats and the gathering of other information necessary to the programming division, which would enable them to formulate the type of program required.
