The Role of the Catholic Church in Spanish Politics in the Twentieth Century

The Church has apparently decided that it must avoid identification with the present political regime. What its role will be in the future political system cannot be determined beforehand. Only after Franco's death or relinquishment of power will the true political personality of the present Spanish Church be revealed.
