Abstract
For the purposes of our investigation, mechanism (I) will be referred to as the external mechanism, and mechanism (II) as the internal mechanism. This rationale can be eXplained as follows. In the course of endo to exo isomerization, mechanism (I), which has been labeled the external mechanism, could be envisioned as follows. Endo product reverts back to addends, probably passing through a cyclic transition state (fig. Ila).
