The intent of this paper is to reflect upon my experiences with the Institute for Global Education (IGE) and the insights that have been gained through my internship with that group. This paper will specifically examine the political orientation of the Institute and the issues which are currently being addressed through their actions. Various aspects of group communication are then examined with specific examples being given of how the IGE conducts its business and uses its knowledge and experience. Proceeding the general topic of communication comes a section on forming coalitions between the IGE and other organizations and how this phenomena may be essential to the success of future organizing. The final section of this report is a simple overview of my major activities with the Institute along with an assortment of integrally related articles, photographs and resource material. And finally, this paper aims to provide an accurate insight into a very unique and important organization that is part of a larger and growing voice in world issues. If you are not a current K College student, faculty, or staff member, email firstname.lastname@example.org to request access to this SIP.
