Decentralization: A Planning Perspective
MetadataShow full item record
Initially looking at my Senior Project, I felt there were two distinct parts. One being my internship with the Planning Department in the City of Kentwood, and the other being the formal paper. A major concern of mine was developing a meaningful integration of the two. I believe this has been obtained through the examination of decentralization. My internship presented me with an opportunity to gain practical experience into community organizing from both a governmental and community perspective. Furthermore, the formal paper has given me a better understanding of both the theoretical approaches to, and some of the theoretical problems of, decentralization. I have purposely kept most of the chapters general, as I was interested in obtaining an overview of the subject matter. Although this study is by no means complete, I feel that a basic understanding of the complexities of decentralization emerges. If you are not a current K College student, faculty, or staff member, email firstname.lastname@example.org to request access to this SIP.
