During my internship, I was asked to assist Financial Risk Analyst, Kenneth Swisher, in developing ideas to improve the City's Risk Management System. Swisher stated that there are three specific areas of the Risk Management process which require improvement. These areas are: The City's safety program, communication between the City Attorney and his office, and data collection regarding the number and value of claims which have been filed against the City. I have investigated his suggestions and my findings compose the first part of the main body of this Senior Individualized Project. Composing the other half of the main body is the report I have completed at the request of Senior Administrative Assistant, Brenda Simmons. Ms. Simmons requested that I investigate ways of better coordinating the process of gathering and disseminating legislative data within City Hall. She asked that I do this project by interviewing each department head, City Commission appointee, and various division managers in order to ascertain what improvements they recommend be made in the process. If you are not a current K College student, faculty, or staff member, email email@example.com to request access to this SIP.
