In the course of the experiments designed to analyze the substituent effect on the serum hydrolysis of phenol esters the plots of log (D∞ – Dt) vs time showed pronounced non-linearity; which went against the predictions according to Michaelis - Menten kenetics of first-order reactions. This project investgates the possible causes for the non-linear plots.
