Abstract
The present project was undertaken as a variation of and to build upon Taylor's work, via the reaction of 2-cyanophenyl-isothiocyanate with a series of primary amines. Other objectives were to determine which amines are too sterically hindered to permit cyclization and if there was cyclization what conditions would lead to a benzothiazine rather than a quinazoline.
