Most do not realize that they truly are ignorant of facts from a first-hand source. What we know of Washington, D.C. we know from the newspaper or word of mouth. This simple fact can be exhaustive in consequences, and what this thesis attempts to do is explore this relationship between press, government, and the public in order that the general citizenry and government can better understand the system and use it wisely.
