Part one of this thesis will examine the political, social and economic life in Spain from 1875 to the present with primary emphasis on the last 25 years. Part two of this thesis will look at the transitional period, 1975-77, from a philosophical viewpoint. John Stuart Mill, Thomas Hobbes, John Locke, and James Madison will help explain the ideology behind ,the formulation of the Spanish political system. Part three will use David Easton's systems analysis study to explain the interrelationships of the various mechanisms that help maintain the flow of the Spanish political process. Without the ability to adapt to a changing environment, the system would exist with the threat of rebellion.
