Imides and anhydrides are both important synthetic precursors to natural products, some of which have significant medical application. The current study is limited to unsymmetrically substituted anhydrides and imides having a cyclic five membered ring or bicyclic nuclei as follows: i) Anhydrides: 3-substituted 2,5-furandiones and 2-substituted bicyclo(2.2.l) heptene anhydrides having the corresponding IUPAC nomenclature of 4,7-methanoisobenzofuran-l,3- dione-3a,4,7,7a-tetrahydro- (3a α, 4 α, 7 α, 7a α) ii) Imides: 3-substituted lH-pyrrole-2,5-dione and 2-substituted bicyclo(2.2.l) heptene imides having the corresponding IUPAC nomenclature of 4,7-methano-1H-Isoindole-l,3-dione 3a,4,7,7a tetrahydro- (3a α, 4 α, 7 α, 7a α).If you are not a current K College student, faculty, or staff member, email email@example.com to request access to this SIP.
