Lipoproteins are water-soluble complexes of high molecular weight composed of lipids (cholesterol, trigly-, cerides, phospholipids) and one or more specific proteins, called apolipoproteins, with which lipids are capable of combining. Circulating lipoproteins are the lipid-carrying particles of the blood plasma. These particles are highly ordered and are believed to hold to the lipid core model.
