Abstract
Construction on the interior of the Nelda K. Balch Playhouse, 1976. The Playhouse Theatre, opened in 1977, was the first thrust theatre constructed in Michigan. It seats 300 and features a scenic view of the city from lobby windows. The theatre was built as an extension to the existing Light Fine Arts Building. Alden B. Dow Associates was the architecture firm. The Kalamazoo Gazette photographer is unidentified.
