Abstract
Kalamazoo College faculty, photographed on the steps of Bowen Hall sometime between 1915 and 1917. In the front row, from left to right, are Herbert Lee Stetson (College President), Clarke Benedict "Tuffy" Williams (Professor of Mathematics and Dean), and Agnes Grenell (Assistant Professor of German). In back are Mark Bailey (Willard Professor of Latin), Lemuel Fish Smith (Professor of Chemistry), Joe Foth (Instructor of Social Sciences), Ernest Balch (Professor of History), George Williams (Broadus Professor of Greek), Justin Bacon (Professor of German and French), Joseph Roy Ellis (Instructor in English), and William Praeger (Professor of Biology). Titles in parentheses are the faculty members' titles at the time of the photograph; all but Joseph Ellis had long careers at the College. The photographer is not identified.
