Kalamazoo College Freshman Hazing, 1909
Abstract
Kalamazoo College's Class of 1909 with their captured freshmen. The captured students are wearing cone hats and face paint and are tied up, and some appear to have large numbers made out of newspaper pasted to their clothes (perhaps spelling "1909"). In that era, it was typical for hazing rituals to be held, usually by upperclassmen against freshmen. The students and photographer are not identified.
