Cast members of Kalamazoo College's German Club play, in the spring of 1915. Students pictured are, left to right: Osborne Ensing, Mildred Tanis, Agnes Grenell, Avis Thomas, Crosby Eaton, and an unidentified student. According to a May 23, 1915 article in the Kalamazoo Gazette, "The play will be 'Engaged' and the cast of characters has been selected from the leaders in the different college German classes. Miss Mildred Tanis will take the part of Malvine, the leading lady and Osborne Ensing will have the leading role for men, as Franz. Miss Bernice Goodrich has been chosen to take the part of Frau Von Grumbach, Louise Cunningham will be Adelaide, and Crosby Eaton will take the part of Langerhans, an ignorant German farmer." Agnes Grenell was a member of the Class of 1912 who worked as an Instructor of French and German from 1913-15 and then became Assistant Professor of German. Bowen Hall is in the background at left, and Williams Hall is at right. The photographer is not identified.en_US
